AEROPLANES HAVE PETROL ENGINE........WHY?

On the whole there are two engines which dominate the running vehicles all over the world. One is Petrol engine and other is Diesel engine. And now Gasolin engines become pre-dominant all over.

Well where do we use petrol engine and where do we use diesel engine? Thing is petrol are efficient and have less maintanance. Where as Diesel engines are more efficient in heavy vehicles. It has high load bearing capacity than petrol. Thats the reason why we use diesel in trucks and buses, but petrol in bikes and cars.

Now what engines are used in Aeroplanes. Its a heavy vehicle right !!! Well if your answer is diesel engine, then you are wrong. AEROPLANES USE ONLY PETROL ENGINES.

Amazing isn't it. Aeroplanes are flying over higher altitude. The temperature at these altitudes is very low. And moreover, diesel has a property of clogging in low temperatures. And thats the reason why petrol engines are preffered in areoplanes.

Aviation Fuels: Generally called as Aviation Turbine Fuel(ATF) is either petroleum based fuel or unleaded kerosene
